Professor Nadia B. Ahmad (J.D., LL.M., M.Phil) is a scholar, educator, entrepreneur, and global thought leader operating at the intersection of environmental science, law, technology, and social justice. She has pioneered cutting-edge solutions by leveraging advanced AI and geospatial technologies to tackle global climate resilience and environmental justice challenges.
As a Professor of Law at Barry University School of Law and a Ph.D. candidate at Yale University’s School of Environment, Prof. Ahmad’s current research harnesses machine learning, satellite imagery, and drone technologies to optimize climate-induced conflict evacuations and enhance resilience planning. She is the founder of Mudder AI, a climate-tech startup supported by Yale Ventures, Climate Haven, Yale Planetary Solutions, Google, AWS, Yale Center for Business and Environment, and NSF I-Corps.
In 2023, Ahmad was part of a global coalition recognized with the United Nations Human Rights Prize for successfully advocating the right to a healthy environment. She made history as the first hijab-wearing Muslim woman to teach at Yale Law School. Prof. Ahmad has authored over 50 scholarly publications and is frequently featured in prominent media outlets including CBS, ABC, CNN, PBS, TIME, Politico, The New York Times, and the Washington Post.
